Over the years, I've seen the need to improve my health through proper diet and exercise. On more than a few occasions, your baby-cut and whole carrots have ended up in my shopping cart, and in my regular daily diet. In light of some recent news - that of William J. Bolthouse's recent substantial donation toward the California ballot initiative to restrict marriage to one man and one woman - I find I will have to reconsider further purchases of your products.
Put simply, I cannot in good conscience continue to support a product whose purveyors would so willingly deny me, as a man who just happens to love another man, the basic right to take what for many is a logical step in codifying a long-standing relationship (7 years and counting, in the case of my boyfriend and myself). Also, as a resident of a state that went through this same ugly drama just 2 years ago, I can't see supporting a company whose chief executives are so willing to assist in subjecting the voting public to more hateful and insulting political rhetoric than is already out there. I understand that your corporate philosophy is supposed to be in line with Biblical scriptures, but I didn't know that suppressing the individual rights of your fellow taxpaying citizens was sanctioned in any verse in the Bible, or that discrimination of any form had become Christ-like behavior to encourage in any way. I sincerely hope you reconsider your choice of positions to fund. Thank you, and God Bless...
