Went to a concert in Milwaukee recently to see an alumnus of a certain piece of reality television... and THIS is some of the proof I have of that trip...

Turns out the cleaning was worth it... as was the visit from John's son and daughter-in-law. A good time was had, and we got Forest and Karen better acquainted with things iPod over the course of Saturday night, to boot.

Got a nice bunch of Christmas gifts from John... the most appreciated of the bunch being a little day trip to Milwaukee (OK, technically Wauwatosa - still in Milwaukee County and the 414 area code, so why quibble?) to see Dreamgirls (since it won't be coming to Madison until sometime in January, most likely). I was crying and finger-snapping and all that... and, for a few minutes, I actually kinda liked Beyoncé - that said, Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy used B's weaves the way most folks use a mop. Not a perfect story, but not a bad one either - and the music had its mind-blowing moments.

After the movie, we stopped at my friend Dale's in Madison on the way home. Christmas Day also happens to be his boyfriend Nick's birthday, and they usually have a nice little dinner party and invite bear folk, Nick's bandmates, et al. This year was no exception, and I look forward to hanging out with them again on New Year's Eve.

As for today, I worked out a little, then I gave John good sex. Other than that, a pleasant, low-key, three-beer day off from work.

When I got back from lunch, I think I may have walked into the middle of a conversation between my supervisor and the general manager that maybe I shouldn't have been present for. It may not have directly involved me at all, but let's just say it was a workplace subject that had me rattled at the mere mention.

But enough about that. John and I had some quite alright times (despite a couple of petty, loud arguments) at the Gay Pride March in Chicago (where they actually let the politicians march before the Dykes on Bikes - can you say "sacrilege," boys and girls? Anyway, we got to have breakfast with John's beautiful, young friend Sean, and that alone was worth the trip!) and Summerfest in Milwaukee (Robert Randolph and the Family Band tore up a side stage on July 4th!! All that skill, and he's a Mets fan, too.). Add the Men's Festival to that formula, and it could actually be a nice summer for a change...

I still can't believe a took a 30-minute walk along the bike trail in these bitch-heel (practically!) shoes!
